Continuing our theme of Saisons brewed with peppercorns, Poivre du Sichuan is brewed with Szechuan peppercorns, coriander, pink peppercorns, ginger and ornage peal. Fermented using a French Saison yeast, the result is a blend of citrus and floral notes with a unique kick from the Szechuan peppercorns. We hope you’ll enjoy this unique take on a traditional beer. 650ml bottle from Erzbierschof. This seasonal beer was brewed with many spices in it and you can smell and taste them well. I like how it’s balanced. Definitely worth a try.

Beautiful appearance with an orange color, nice small bubbles and a good amount of white foam. Aroma is hoppy and yeasty, floral notes and a bit peppery. In the taste, the full spicy complexity comes through: ginger, aetheric pepper, slightly peppery finish. Foamy mouthfeel, light body as it should be for a Saison. Very good. But I can understand that it might be weird for some people.

22oz bomber shared at a tasting. Unfiltered orange-tan. Steady white head. Not such and enticing aroma. Really nice carbonation, but has some odd infected high temp issues. Pink peppercorns are really easy going. OK.

Lightly hazy gold beer with a small white head. Palate is light, airy and dry. Fine carbonation. Dry thin malt. Nice black pepper, aromatic and flavoursome without too much heat. Light citric hops provide contrast. Finishes light and dry. Could be a very nice beer with a bit more body.

650ml bottle [batch 77]. Hazy amber colour with very huge, frothy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Floral hoppy and minimally spicy aroma, a touch of wild yeast, some citrus. Taste is floral hopy, spicy, orange zest, a peppery touch. Very nice.

Bottle from a trade with Pawola22. Batch #24. Pours cloudy orangish color with big off white head. Perfumey aroma with bready malts, peppercorns, corriander and some grass. Lots of spice flavors with pepper, corriander, citrus, cereal malts and some dough. Light to medium body with lively carbonation. Thanks Brian.
