Bottle from Linda shop, Burton on Trent (not listed on RB) – drank at home to celebrate Jani. Pours a very dark reddish brown with a medium sized frothy beige head, and fairly low carbonation. Roast malts and dried fruit to the fore in the aroma – plus traces of caramel and chocolate. In the mouth it’s fairly sweet with a mainstay of roasted malts again, plus figs, chocolate and black bread. Finish is slightly dry and spicy. This is decent.

Rocky off white head on dark brown still body. Roasted & damp cardboard aroma. Medium to thin bodied, soft with a lump back. Malt, coffee, sugar, liquorice & raisin tastes with a bitter finish.

Bottle, small stable creamy head, clear very deep brown with reddish hues, dark bread, caramel, some raisins, prunes and dried apricot, hint of nuts, quite sweet but not cloying, light biterness. Not bad.
