This is a Belgian-style double brewed with a traditional coriander, and an uncommon addition of kaffir lime and lemongrass. An amber body, rich, flavorful, absolutely delicious, and entirely too drinkable for a beer that’s 8.5% ABV.

Clear reddish-brown pour with a medium thin light beige head that recedes steadily. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of lemon, toasted malt and spices. Medium body with flavors of sweet malt, caramel, lemon and spices. The finish is sweet with a malt and citrus aftertaste. Decent overall.

16 oz. can from JoePeesie poured into a shaker. Pours clear crimson with small beige head that dissapates quickly. Some thin medium bubble lacing, medium/heavy body, low carbonation, and Thai spice and a little kaffir lime aroma. Taste is Thai spice, kaffir lime, pepper, some coriander, and a bitter finish. Apparently I am too common, I don’t like this.

Draft: Fig and cranberry nose. Cloudy rust, thin yellow head. Twigs and cherry flavor. Creamy mouthfeel, but boozy. Not usually my type of beer, but this was good.

Sampled from a 16oz can this beer poured a murky dark brown color with an incredibly huge foamy brown head that lingered forever and left good lacing. The aroma was sweet lime, lemongrass, sourdough bread and cardamom. The flavor was tart and spicy lemongrass, lime, pepper, bread, nut and cardamom. The finish was long and spicy with lingering lime and lemongrass. Medium body. Odd but interesting.

This was the last of the 46 beers that I tried during CBC 2012. The taste was sweet but rather refreshing. Lime, spices, malt and brown sugar.

Sample at Copenhagen Beer Celebration. Chestnut colour, off-white head. Moderate aroma, lime and dust, hints of lemongrass. Far too sweet flavour, sugary as hell, strong notes of lime, the hints of lemongrass and coriander are not enough to save this beer. Too modest hops. Well, the beer isn’t bad, but compared to the other great beers of the festival it fails to impress me.

Draught @ CBC ’12
A bit weird appearance with big-bubbled head. Aroma is stale with some semi-roasted malt. Feels like a dunkel. Flavour is sweet with malt, brown sugar, some oaky notes. Also a slight metallic savor. Too sweet and straightforward.

Pours dark reddish brown with tiny head. Aroma of malts, spices and hints of berries. Taste is slightly sweet and spicy with a lot of malts and hints of berries and fruits. Finish is slightly sticky with some fruits and berries. Okay, quite fruity dubbel.
