Deep brown pour, small white head. Sweet, bready aroma, light nutiness, and some dark fruits. Flavour is quite sweet, almost cloying. Light bitterness with a mildly fruity finish with little evidence of the indicated ingredients. Quite boozy and way too sweet. Not my bag.

Notes from January 2011 Tossed this into the pile when I was one short of a six of shit ciders I've yet to try. It's a hobby of mine. :) Gouden Carolus goblet. No BB date, no rust, all good. Sandy caked head, muddy orange/brown body. I upset some protein at the end. My bad. Smell is a bit lemon wood polish, resiny DIPA, whiskey sour, & aloe. I sort of knew what was coming, but it's still a bit odd. Upfront tang, bitter peel, heavy coriander. Too much coriander without a comparable malt base. Big herbal bitters. Malt is overshadowed. Bland yeasty middle. Subtly sweet rind & coriander on the finish. Bit of a metallic note. Ugly alcohol. Frothy throughout. Though not harsh, it's distracting. It's beaded really well, but not what I need. Obvious ABV. It hurts. I could of handled more lime I think. Not enough quality lime beers out there. Don't be shy.

Keg at Craft. Dark red brown colour with small beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, bit of chocolate and boozy fruits. Taste is quite chocolatey, with the herbal coriander element and the lime coming up at the end. Quite full on in the mouth, and almost vinous in feel. Bit of a strange one, but quite nice.

Poured from keg at Junkyard, half-pint shared with Finn. Red-brown coloured body. Bare naked surface. Smell of black currant and caramel. Berries flavours added by spices and honeyed caramel. Well bodied with warmth from the alcohol. Heavy stuff, nice sipper (Saturday pub crawl in Nottingham 20.02.2016).

Fresh can drunk Summer 2012
I hate traditionalists, and I love experimentation, but....but....kaffir lime....in a Belgian Dubbel?????Yes, they have succeeded in being uncommon. Congratulations. Pushing the envelope is great. Throwing a bunch of random shit against the wall to see what sticks in a whole nother thing. This did not stick. Sweet (too much so) with more of an underfermented amber ale flavor than that of a Belgian ale. Lemongrass is overdone, lime is overdone, coriander is overdone. Wow. Fortunately I was given this to try and did not spend money on it. Friend couldnt give the rest of the 4 pack away. Another big yikes. If you’re going to ruin a beer or go over the top, at least make it fun (Crime and Punishment come to mind, maybe some Brew Dog stuff, etc....)

Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma of spices and a bit tartness. Taste is fresh and spicy, but dark at the same time. Lemongrass, yes, Kefir - maybe that’s where the tartness comes from. A super-special beer. I like it.

Draft at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a clear dark amber with a round white head. The aroma is red berry fruit, light yeast, sweet malt. The flavour moderate sweet with a light aniseed, spicy liqourice hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.
