Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a small cream head. Has a nice creamy, roasty aroma with vanilla prominent. Quite sweet in the mouth, with dark fruits and liquorice featuring. Eventually, some vanilla and rraces of bitter coffee come through as well. Finish is quite fruity. Nice to have a stout with some stout character for a change !

Bottle ordered from A Hoppy Place, Windsor. Aroma had coffee, dark berries, cream. Darkest opaque brown. Foamy beige head. Initial sour streak before bitterness comes through. The sour berries remain at the forefront with underlying coffee. Gravy tang appears into the finish. Medium bodied. Slice to creamy. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. I like. No need for additional flavarings.

Cask at the White Hart, Holyport. A glossy, opaque black pour with a ring of cream head; aroma of chocoalte malts; immediately bitter with a malty chocolate body, some coffee grounds, and an underlying sweetness. An excellent stout.

Cask at the CP&K, 29/12/17. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a decent tan head. Nose is mellow roast malts, toffee, spice, dried fruits. Taste comprises brown bread, toffee, light cocoa rub, biscuit, spice. Light in body, moderate carbonation, light drying clone. Not offensive but a touch thin and watery and overall forgetable.
