Ceramic bottle. 3 year old bottle. Thanks to Bluntaholic. Pours a clear golden color with no head or lacings. Nose and taste is sweet of honey, wood, vanilla, orange, and alcohol. It seems somehow rounded and mellowed out. Warmth and some alcohol. Quite sippable.

ceramic bottle. pours orange, no head. aroma of honey, apricot and faint alc. flavor is slightly cellary, almost as if the ceramic bottle could be tasted. honey, mouldy, sweet, spices, something resembling but not quite apricot. ends bitter from the alc. what i call mouldy might actually be some spices, herbs. probably is.

25 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with no head. Warming alcohol and light spiced aroma. Flavour is sweet and alcohol dominant. Warming and sweet lingering finish.

Clear golden with no head. Sweet aroma with notes of honey and ripe fruits. Sweet flavor with alcohol and honey notes. Berry notes as well. Ends sweet.

The flavor is heavy on the sweet honey with some herbal notes. It’s definitely warming as one would expect from 19% abv. The mouthfeel is almost syrupy and the finish continues to be sweet. Enjoy it for dessert or late in the evening as you would a port.

Strong perfume-like honey aroma, very floral. Shimmering gold color and still. Sweet taste and alcohol doesn’t mesh up well Aside from dark honey, there is a taste of mango and white grapes. Dried leaves on the palate.

Another deep golden-amber mead, slightly softer than the Dansk Klap, with similar legs and a high clarity.
For bringing the alcohol down a little over 2%, I definitely was impressed that it seemed significantly more lighter than that (wasnt expecting hardly any change). A little bit more phenolic spiciness comes out, and the alcohol isn’t quite as fierce, with more of a plum-brandy note and not quite the beat you over the head with raisins and thick brown sugar that that Klap had. Still, it wasn’t too far behind, in an absolute sense, and just seemed excessive and overly decadent, to say the least. Thank god for Sunset Grill and their mead flights; I would have been pissed if I bought a bottle of this for $20. Thick, syrupy texture, alcohol is quite problematic.

(Bottle) Clear deep golden color. Sweet honey and raissin scent, but also a lot of alcohol. Sweet honey scent. Though the aftertaste is alcohol and it’s quite warming, almost burning in the throat. Apparently they add hard spirits to this to stop the fermentation and keep some of the sweet stuff from the honey. I don’t think I appreciate the amount of alcohol that has been added. Rich mouthfeel.

Wonderfull acetic mead. Not as sweet as they are normal. Good aroma, with a hint of ginger.

(Bottle 75 cl) Clear, fully golden colour. Vinous, alcoholic nose with notes of honey. Lovely, full-bodied with soft, creamy honey flavours. Distinct warming alcohol with a slightly sticky, sweet finish. 291005
