Cette trinity in black, c'est du sérieux et bien exécuté. Cette collaboration entre Puhaste, Af Brew et Zagovor est une belle réussite ce qui pour une collaboration à 3 n'est pas usuel. Après, vous allez me dire qu'ils ne sont pas allés chercher bien loin l'idée d'un Imperial Stout dans lequel est ajouté Tonka, vanille, cannelle et lactose, et vous n'auriez sans doute pas tort. Le visuel est sur un noir total sans mousse et avec une très faible effervescence. Au nez ça tabasse d'emblée avec café, chocolat, caramel et les épices qui se ressentent bien avec donc cannelle, vanille et tonka. En bouche, pareillement ça envoie du lourd avec une texture moyenne. L'ensemble est relativement sucré (un peu trop pour moi) mais l'alcool à 12,5 % et une amertume bien dosée contrebalancent bien cela. A noter de légers arômes de charbon qui s'ajoutent pour un Imperial Stout très gourmand.

P: very nice med to full bodied, light mineral sparkle, tonka, vanilla, cinnamon, dark chocolate, high grade cocoa, light char. 3 years after BBD still awesome, zero flaws.

Bottle at home. Pours jet black with thin brown head. Nose is booze, light vanilla, some chocolate and big cinnamon and tonka beans. Taste is sweet notes of booze, faint vanilla, milk chocolate and again those huge cinnamon and tonka notes that are so hard to tell apart. Closes with long lasting sweet finish, has medium to heavy, oily body. Great sipper.

Intense! Dark as the night, rich as a bank

From tap at De Kleine Deugniet, Alkmaar. Thick and sweet with an aroma of cinnamon, roasted malt, tonka beans, cocoa, some coffee, chocolate, vanilla, somewhat boozy. A rich sweetness with some roasty bitterness. Quite a lot going on here, love the thickness.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with late awakening, small, creamy, diminishing, minimally lacing, dark brown head. Spicy aroma, chocolately, dark malty background, notes of tonka beans and cinnamon, some cocoa, dark chocolate, a touch of dark caramel, vanilla. Taste is roasty, chocolately, dark malty, spicy and minimally alcoholic, notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, tonka beans, some cinnamon, a touch of vanilla, minimally ashy undertones; slightly warming, alcoholic finish. Slightly viscous texture, smooth and soft, slightly cloying palate, fine, dense, soft to flat carbonation. Very nice composition, tonka and cinnamon dominated admittedly, but a feast for those who like tonka and cinnamon... and I do - delicious.

(Bottle) Black colour with brief, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of dark chocolate, vanilla, black bread, sweet coffee, prunes and cinnamon. Malty, roasted taste with dark chocolate, vanilla, black bread, rum raisins, coconut, liquorice, cinnamon, tonka beans and a gentle cacao bitterness in a warming, vinous finish. Full body, sweet. Rich, thick and powerful. Tasty and fairly well balanced for its strength. Very nice.

Awesome stout. Second time I've had one of these beers with Tonka beans, and I've gotta say I'm a fan. Cinnamon is potent on the front, then there is this velvety vanilla underpinning that sails you right through to a snappy bitter aftertaste. Black oily pour with mocha head. Can I got in Europe somewhere.
