From a 250ml can on 8/3/2022. Pours a clear super dark ambercola colour with no head. Has an aroma featuring hints of toffee, caramel and dark and dried fruit. Tastes very much as per the nose, malty, with toffee and caramel, with some plum, prune and sultana. There's a hint of warming booze at the back, but damn it's well hidden when you consider the size of the thing. The palate is more slick than syrupy, and the carbonation is barely there. Not sure that a 20 per center should be this easy drinking, but it's goes down nicely, and makes a very formidable and rather enjoyable night cap.

250ml can. Not going to give any points for that, but yes, this is a good size for a super strong beer. Clear dark brown with a cm of beige head that fades in time. 3+ Aroma is boozy and grapey with some toffee and prune. Perhaps some hints of cardboard. Low carbonation, full bodied but really not syrupy. More genuinely malty than suggested by the aroma with strong bread, singed caramel, some dried fruit. A bit of bitterness and no overt booze at all (will the bitterness be enough in 18 months time?). I'm all for indulging good brewers doing something silly for a birthday beer but this has turned out _really_ well.
