Shubunkin is an expressive sour ale with sea buckthorn. It is nice and tart with flavours of the berries, with hints of apricot jam with a touch of pepper.

Deutlich säuerlicher Beginn, weich, leicht salzig. Beerig, hohe Süffigkeit, rund. Langer, moderat fruchtiger Abgang. 7/10

Troebel oranje zonder schuim. Stevig zuur en fruitig, gele vrucht van de duindoorn is herkenbaar te proeven. En minder bitter dan ik had verwacht. Body is waterig en fruitsapperig met vruchtvlees. Weinig bubbels.

Bottle, directly from brewery. Color: Hazy orangr amber to golden, fast disappearing white head. Aroma: Funky, fruity. Taste: Moderate to over moderate tart, farmyard wild yeast funk, fruity and bit floral notes of buckthorn, sour berries. Medium to just under medium body, just below average carbonation. Nice.
