Very full bodied, rich and sweet with a higher bitterness to provide balance. Bursting with malty, biscuity and fruit cake character from the mixture of pale, amber and crystal malts. Masses of tropical fruits and floral fragrance from the hops, in particular the fragrant, floral and spicy Fuggles used as late hop together with extra Challenger, Pilgrim and First Gold. Very complex, rich and warming.

MALT: Pale, crystal, amber.
HOPS: Challenger, First Gold, Fuggles

Bottle. A clear, dark amber beer topped by a small, dense, light beige head. The aroma has loads of toffee, some cheesy hops and nuts. It’s semi-sweet on the palate, with a nice carbonation level. Full to medium body. Toffee, nuts, caramel and bitterness in the flavor. Some grassy hints too. Blue plum hints, perhaps some prunes. Decent bitterness in the finish. A quite ordinary one, drinkable, but too much on the toffee side. 131231

Bottle. Pours clear copper amber with airy but stable off-white head. Slightly dusty aroma of hops, oak barrel, spices, and malt. Bitter, hoppy flavour, with vinous and alcoholic notes of oak barrel, sweetish fruity hints, and touches of caramel malt. Bittersweet aftertaste. Well-balanced and nice to look at. Decent stuff, indeed.

Bardzo smaczne rubinowo-miedziany kolor. Piana nie zawielka ale stoji jakis czas co cieszy w brytyjskich Ale. Zapach sliwkowy nieco spruchnialego i wilgotnego drewna. Smak tresciwy wytrawny z poczatkowa slodycza ktora potem przeksztalca sie w wytrawna gorych, lekko ociepla i rozgrzewa choc ma nie za wysaka moc. Klasa. Swietny Abbot Reserve. Dobre i solidne Ale z pelnia smaku i tresciwosci.
