Chocolate and a little roast. Black pour with decent head. Creamy consistency. Bitter and light tangy finish. Can.

473ml can. Pours an opaque dark brown, almost black with a medium, foamy, short lived, tan head that leaves spotty lacing. Semi-sweet aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, earth and coffee. Semi-sweet flavour of roasted malt, mild dark chocolate and day-old coffee in a dry, mild bitter finish. Light body with a thin, watery texture and soft carbonation. Disappointing, the “copious amounts of chocolate” was too subtle and the body was too thin for the style.

On tap Moody Ales, pours a dark brown / near-black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out dry earthy cocoa and some toasted malt. Flavour is thin, with light cocoa and some metallic notes. Thin and cocoa-y. Meh.

473 ml can. Pours a very dark brown with a moderate tan head of big bubbles that dissipate quickly. Aromas of rubbery chocolate and roasted malts. Flavors of flat colas, roasted malts and dry chocolate. Roasty acidic finish
