Bottle. Nose of vanilla, treacle, oak and chocolate, nice bourbon. Sweet and smooth, nicely done barrel aging effect.

Troubled Monk Oblation BA barleywine 11.5% Matte orange brown with wispy tan foam and a rich BA molasses aroma. Medium to full bodied with round carbonation and loads of sweetness up front with hints of oak in the finish. Smooth stuff.

650ml bottle. Pours a hazy red-orange with a small, creamy, short lived, beige head that laces. Sweet aroma of bready caramel malt, candi sugar, toffee, fig, raisin, bourbon and oak. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, toffee, plum, fig, candi sugar, vanilla and oak in a dry, mild bitter, bourbon warming finish. Full body with a sticky, oily texture and average carbonation. Nice complexity. This has aged well.
