Ontario grows hearty stock. The earliest settlers made room amongst the indomitable oak forests for their growing fields of rye. They crafted a tradition of aging world renowned Canadian Rye whisky in oak barrels, which today is almost as much a part of our heritage as pond hockey. Big Rock’s Oak Aged Rye Ale gives those rye saturated barrels a second life, small batch aging this medium brown ale with the spirit of Canada.

330ml bottle. Pours a clear amber-orange with a medium, short lived, fizzy, off-white head that leaves spotty lacing. Mild, sweet aroma of bready malt, caramel, oak and a hint of grainy rye. Sweet flavour of grainy rye malt, light peach and oak. Light body with a thin, watery texture and soft to almost flat carbonation. Not great, the rye whisky is almost non-existent.
