Rumors swirl about a secret Phillips Brewing project called Area 52, where renegade hoptomolgy breeds experimental hoppy beers known only by their call-signs. We deny everything. 'Flamingopher' does not exist.

341ml bottle. (6.5% ABV) As Area 52 Flamingopher. Pours a clear golden with a medium, long lasting, foamy, white head that laces. Sweet, hoppy aroma of tropical fruit, grapefruit and pine. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, tropical fruit, grapefruit and pine resin with a dry, bitter, hoppy finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Not bad.

This was a cask at the Kettle Valley Pub in Penticton. I have no idea if this is a variant of one of the existing Phillips IPAs or what. It might be. Looks like mud. Pretty fruity hop nose with some nice grapefruit/pommelo character. Quite full bodied, sweet grapefruity character. Balanced in the finish- shows no ill effects of the yeast.
