Clear red brown colour with thin head and ni carbonation. Lots of wood in the aroma, perhaps too much. It's got a base grainy sweetness and a boozy kick. There's a little vanilla bourbon sweetness but the overall woodiness dominates too much. Thinnish texture. Not bad, just far from optimal.

Roodbruin bier zonder schuim. Smaak is vrij droog en licht fruitig met iets van rode wijn, wat bramen en wat cognac en vanille. De geur is ok maar schept bepaalde verwachtingen die helaas niet helemaal worden waargemaakt. Jammer.

No head, reddish to brownish unclear beer. Very alcoholic nose, winebarrels, booze, but some fruity aromas as dried red (cherries) and other (figs) fruit. Dry wood, again strangely red fruit that isn't there; flavours of brandy/cognac or peachbrandy. Little vanilla, bit of chalk and dust. Not very full bodied, alcoholthinning, but serious alcoholwarming. Good, but if you follow the name, the hop is just the bird, and nothing else, I'm afraid. Txs to Stef!

Pours a bit unclear amber. No real head. Scent is nice, full dried fruitsyness. Barrels are fairly absent. Taste is sharp, lots of wood, some booze, dried fruits. Tad bitter. Perhaps a bit thin, but pleasant aroma's at least.
