2022 vintage @8.5%. (Packaged Aug ‘22). 473 ml can. Pours amber with moderate head. Aromas of earthy Belgian yeast, including bananas and cloves, a bit of rubber, and soft wheaty malts. Flavors are cleaner and crisper; banana, corriander, cloves, lemon and wheaty malts. Nice

2017 edition, labelled as Belgian Golden Strong but with 10.6% abv. Deep medium brown body and modest foam, okay. Vague wood and malt aroma, too faint really. Taste is sweet chewy malt, caramel, ends smooth with no sign of the alcohol. Straight ahead but made well enough.

Poured from 650mL bottle. Slightly hazy golden orange with off-white head. Mild belgian yeast, candied sugar, and alcohol. Blend is proportionate, but a bit harsh in alcohol. Not quite ready.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a hazy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out candied sugar, Belgian yeast, some fruity esters and a little alcohol. Flavour is along the same lines, but hotter, with lots of alcohol, Belgian yeast and fruity esters. Shows every tenth of a percentage point of alcohol and then some. Finishes with lots of residual sugars and alcohol. An amateur Belgian Strong, but it's still decent in small amounts. Needs tweaking.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Hazy golden color. The aroma is moderately sweet and malty. It has a food body strength, it’s fairly sweet, but the pale malt flavor justifies that; it has delicate fruity esters and mild yeast character. Correct bitterness, with pleasant alcohol warmth.
I may have had a few Belgian beers like this. A bit heavy, I wouldn’t drink much of it, but quite nice.

Lots of citrus and florals with a fair dose of booze. Pours golden with good lacing. Sweet finish. Some coriander. Good balance, though a touch oaky. Tap at St. Augustines.
