Blik 33cl thuis. Zacht rooksmaak, carameltonen, bready, wat grainy, hoptonen, licht klef, bacon, zacht, wat toffee. (5-9-2025).

Rauchiger, mild süßer Malzbeginn. Süffig, weich getreidig, moderate Herbe. Zunehmend dunkelmalziger werdend, würzig, konstant rauchig. Spritzig, langer herb-malziger Abgang, gut. 10/10/12/10/9/10

Pours amber with a white head. Aroma: smoked malts, bread and caramel. Taste: medium smokey with hints of caramelly malts and soft honey. Bready palate.

A clear orange brown beer with a beige head. Aroma of intense smoked malt, caramel, wood, bacon. Taste of bacon, smoked, caramel, dark breadish malt, moderate bitterness.

Can from Drankenhandel Leiden. Smoked malt aroma with caramel, brown malt, smoked wood. Moderate sweet, light to mild bitter, medium body. Long smokey finish. Good Rauchmärzen.

Can at home from Slijterij de Laat. Amber pour with an off-white head. Nose is sweet, smoky malts, bread and toffee, some bacon. Taste is also sweet, moderately and pleasantly so, with vague fruity and stronger bready, toffee and smoky notes. The finish is lightly warming, smoky, sweetish. Medium bodied with soft to average carbonation. Pleasant beer all around.

Brown with lasting head. Aroma slightly metallic and a little leathery too. Tastes really full and malty with loads of beech smoke. Elements of new leather and hot dog brine.
Defent enough for them. Pretty good for a craft version, but basically a worse version of the classic germans. Bierkonig ams (3.4 june 2023) Again at beertemple draft. Actually just awesome smoke flavour on top of a malt heavy beer

0.33 l can from 'Beerdome', canned in October 2022. Almost clear, deep reddish amber with a thin, foamy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, quite smoky aroma of caramel, smoked eel, leaves, some sauerkraut and a touch of nuts. Quite sweet, malty, gently bitter, rather smoky taste of caramel, smoked eel, leaves, nuts, sauerkraut and toasted grains, followed by a short, gently bitter, a little dry finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Tasty Rauchmärzen but nowhere near a Schlenkerla.
