From tap at De Klep, Venlo. A very spicy Quadrupel with dark malt, some liquorice root, caramel, lightly some dried fruits. Sweet and mild bitter. Above medium body. Good, but a bit too spicy for me.

Appearance: Cloudy chestnut brown with a moderate ivory-coloured head of medium retention. Aroma : Rich esters with notes of prunes, raisins, dates & figs. Spicy yeast, caramel & toast, spicy hop. Taste: As described above. Medium dry to light sweet. Light bitter. Warming. Mouth feel: Medium plus body. Sofft to average carbonation. Overall: Good.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Burg Bieren, Ermelo. Dutch brewery #494.
Very dark brown with an off-white creamy head. Dark caramel and malt aroma with dried fruits and molasses. Sweet taste with a long bittersweet finish. Very Belgian in all aspects.
