A strong dark and spicy Winter Ale for those cold dark evenings. Combining the smooth bitterness of East Kent Golding’s hops with the aroma and taste of the fruits and spices associated with this time of the year. Hints of Orange, Ginger, Nutmeg and other exotic spices is best enjoyed beside the fire as a relaxing drink to warm the cockles of your heart.

7/12/2018. Cask at The Thirty Fifth Pig’s Ear Festival, Hackney. Pours dark brown with a short lasting off-white head. Aroma of Christmas spices, ginger, nutmeg, citrus sours, dark fruit and fisherman’s friend. Moderate sweetness and bitterness, with quite heavy sour. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Christmas in a glass I like, but not a fan of the sour to it.

Cask at Pigs Ear 2018 - Hackney, London. Day 3. Pours clear brown with a small, foamy tan head. Nice complexity, has some lightly tangy aged berries, background winters spices, toasted sugars, fruitcake, brown bread. Medium bodied with fine carbonation; decent condition. Fair balance on the finish, more ripe and tangy berries and soft spices. Good stuff.
