North star’s rich caramel maltiness is perfectly balanced out by floral hops and inviting ‘seasonal’ dried fruit and spice notes. Pouring a deep chestnut colour it is a smooth, full bodied and delicately sweet Winter Ale to keep you warm and toasty on the coldest of days.

Cask at the Real Ale Classroom, Leicester city centre. Golden brown, clear with a decent-sized slightly loose beige head. Malty aroma, a little metallic, touch of ash, some cherry notes in the background. Gorgeous taste, sweetness to the fore with some intense bitterness in the second half of the sip. A little weak in the body, little carbonation. But this is a well done beer. Every time I take a sip I discover something new.
