Can from Craft Bar Pitmedden. It pours darkest brown to black with a frothy khaki head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, nutty, chocolate, gateaux, praline, forrero rocher, roasted malt, touch of umami, liquorice and touch of dried fruits. The taste is smooth, toasty, earthy roasted malt, bitter - sweet character, quite chocolatey, nutty, praline, forrero rocher, dried fruits, sultana, raisin, toasted fruit cake, malt loaf, touch of toothy liquorice and some rocky road with a smooth, roasty finish. Medium body and moderate, well appointed carbonation. Rounded and flavourful. A rather tasty and moreish mild.

Can from Great Grog. Clear ruby/brown body with a beige head. Lively carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of blackcurrant and cola. Flavour of earth and dried fruit. Medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. A bit more hoppy and sharp than my favourite milds.

Panda at home, thanks to Fergus, 11/03/23. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a beige cap that veers edgewards. Nose is dried fruit rinds, figs, toffee, tobacco, brown bread. Taste comprises toffee, brown sugar dusting, fruit slice, biscuit, faint cocoa and baking powder. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent flavoursome and well rounded mild.

Dark brown beer, thin white head. Light nutty aroma. Flavour is nutty again with some sweet malt, a little tangy fruit, a bit of sugar, slightly bready. Warming, slightly sweet finish. Wouldn't hate if it had a touch more body but maybe that goes with the territory a little for the style. Very pleasant regardless.
