[Cask at the Alehouse, Reading.] A bright chestnut coloured pour with a loose yellowish head; aroma of brown sugar and malt; rich malty taste, with the sweetness nicely balanced by the hops which just catch the back of the throat and add a hint of spice to the treacly finish. A proper old-fashioned bitter.

Thin beige head on a copper coloured body. Toffee, berry & confectionery aroma. Medium bodied, smooth with a cloying back. Sweet, malt, toffee & lightly smoked tastes with a big fruity finish. Tastes more like Red Ale not a bitter - there's no bitterness. Very well brewed tasty beer.
