Door toevoeging van Kveik, een Noorse biergist, heeft dit bier een droger mondgevoel. Heel bijzonder, zeker in combinatie met die fruitige toetsen.

5/VI/22 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker), shared @ Akke’s place, BB: 22/II/25 (2022-665)

Clear orange beer, big creamy off-white head, pretty stable, rocky, a bit irregular, slightly adhesive. Aroma: nice, lots of tropical fruits, dank hops, a bit cheesy, oxidized. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of citrus, bitter, a bit resinous, cheesy, some orange peel. Aftertaste: fruity, a bit medicinal, bitter, hoppy, resinous. Not great, but ok-ish. A bit disappointing though, I’ve had much better IPA’s from the Musketeers...

Sample at Zythos 2022, darker orange, small head. Aroma is fruity, hops, tropical fruit, sweetness. Taste is the same, sweet, bitter, fruity, hops, citrus, hint of yeast. Very nice

Clear dark yellow colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour have passion fruit. Sharp and bitter. Quite intense.

Good, bit fluffy, off-white head over reddish copper beer, slightly veiled. Very aromatic citrus nose, grapefruit, passion fruit, lychee, nectarine. Excellent, inviting nose. Bitter, metallic flavour, with lots of aromatic fruity components, if less specific as in the nose; and also a remarkable sourdough-like sourish spike (no doubt the kveik acting). Citruspeel the main dominating ester. Quite dry MF, a bit alleviated by both the carbonation (if not that intense, really) and the yeasty acidity. Long lasting bitterness in the aftertaste. On of the better check-offs on the bucketlist, with a superb aroma. Thanks to Stefaan S!
