In a week of political lies unmasked this beer does not lie, it's full of chocolate in both aroma and taste, and it lingers. A reddish dark-brown colour, it has an easy-drinking texture too.

6/2/2026. Cask at the 16th Elysian Winter Beer Festival. Aroma is supermarket chocolate ice cream, cocoa powder, coffee, wafer, coconut. Quite weak bodied. Aroma the high point and it's likeable.

Cask at Flowerpot, Derby (23/9/23). Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a small cream head. There’s roast malts in the aroma, plus liquorice and chocolate. In the mouth it has a tangy texture with malts, chocolate, cola, liquorice and traces of aniseed. Finish is slightly bitter. This is OK, but not particularly chocolatey.

Sample at the red Lion jdw. Medium creamy beige head. Clear almost black pour. Chocolate aroma. Very good.
