Originally brewed as a special to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Nelson’s victory at Trafalgar in 1805. However, production of the bottled version and, occasionally, the cask has continued.
This premium bottle-conditioned ale has been uniquely brewed using our own Cornish Gold malt. Locally grown barley is traditionally malted using a special kilning process which develops a deeper intensity of colour and flavour than ordinary barley malt. Blended with both Styrian Golding and Cascade hops, the result is a deep bronze ale with a delicious rich biscuit flavour and a wonderful spicy aroma.

Flaske på Bøker&Børst, avslutning på Bjørnøy Rundt Triatlon: B&B har nå en variert ølmeny, og her fant vi to uprøvde. Denne kom etter Joker ipa, og var et hakk eller to over som forgjengeren, men heller ikke noe mer enn en grei ipa uten stort særpreg.

(bottle) Slightly unclear, dark amber colour with a short and tanned foamy head. Fruity and slightly woody hoppy aroma with notes of citrus and grapefruit, accompanied by a mildly toasty malty touch and caramel. Moderately bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a well-carbonated mouthfeel. Aromatic blend of toasty malt and caramel with mainly fruity and delicately woody hops; moderately bitter hoppy and fruity finish with hints of biscuits and caramel. Well-crafted Ale. 11.II.13

500ml bottle. Courtesy of Rune@Rating Session 25.Oct.2012 Clear bronze body, with soapy diminishing head that leaves a beautiful lacing on the glass. Ugly and childish label! Aroma of pickled dark fruits, grain, leather, smoke and tobacco. Pleasant taste of cookies, plum, raisins and a delicious fruitcake and jam finish.

Bottle conditioned 500ml’s, poured carefully into an Abbot Ale glass tankard on 2 Nov 2012 @ home some 5 months before it’s best before date of 30 Mar 2013. Toffee apple/copper body with a thin white head. Mixed bag of flavours in the nose and taste: malts foremost but with floral and citrus hop notes behind the biscuity light maltiness that just wins the battle for dominance. Nice blend, semi-sweet overal but with enough hop presence to keep the beer in check and give it a mini-bitterness towards the end of each gulp.

Ogi’s. Poured a bronze body with a small tan head that went away slowly. Sticky malt & cascade nose. Not bad. The taste is tea-like (how appropriate), a solid malt backbone and aroma hops. Dry. Not as nice as Proper Job but still a respectable beer. Claims to be the best beer in the world or something like that... and while unimpressive, it’s better than most others who do that.

0.5l bottle. This is a clear bronze one with some small floaters floating around and a little bubbly quite lacing off-white head. On the aroma this is light sweet and malty, some caramel and tones of dried dark fruits. Not horrible at all, but not extreme either. It has a really nice texture in the mouth; small prickling and almost fizzing bubbles in a soft oily texture. Flavors are also caramel sweet, the burned kind and I also get tones of leafs and sour grass. Yeah, this was actually quite a nice little surprise. Have no problems recommending this to my "skeptic" friends. 27.06.2012
