Originally brewed as a special to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Nelson’s victory at Trafalgar in 1805. However, production of the bottled version and, occasionally, the cask has continued.
This premium bottle-conditioned ale has been uniquely brewed using our own Cornish Gold malt. Locally grown barley is traditionally malted using a special kilning process which develops a deeper intensity of colour and flavour than ordinary barley malt. Blended with both Styrian Golding and Cascade hops, the result is a deep bronze ale with a delicious rich biscuit flavour and a wonderful spicy aroma.

Cask at Copenhagen Beerfestival. It’s a clear, copper colored beer wtih a small, off-white head. Balanced aroma with bready malts and citrusy hops. Some caramel and resin as well. The flavor is on the malty side with a pleasant citrusy twist. Bready, with some caramel. Medium body, rather dry, and a decent bitterness in the finish. A quenching session ale, not very exciting, but drinks well. (090517)

Cask at Cockney Pub. Creamy off-white good mostly lasting head. Amber colour. Light malty and heavy hoppy aroma. Great pine notes. Moderate malty and bitter flavor. Strong hopps notes. Perfect malt/hopps balance. Creamy palate. Excellent.

Bottle, Morrisons, West Kirby. A dark amber pour with a dissipating off white head. Some caramel malt and citrus hop lurking in the aroma department. Flavour was pleasantly fruity with a good hop/malt balance. Medium bitter finish. All in all a worthy brew.

Bottled@8BeerQuickPicnicSession (thanks to the craziest bartender in the world!). Slightly hazy coppery amber colour with small white head. Aroma is fruity, flowery and wooden along with some slight sappy notes to it. Flavour is flowery and wooden along with some slight fruity and earthy notes. Quite big fruity and grassy bittery dry finish.
