This premium bottle-conditioned ale has been uniquely brewed using our own Cornish Gold malt. Locally grown barley is traditionally malted using a special kilning process which develops a deeper intensity of colour and flavour than ordinary barley malt. Blended with both Styrian Golding and Cascade hops, the result is a deep bronze ale with a delicious rich biscuit flavour and a wonderful spicy aroma.

Deep brown with an off-white head, fruit and malt on the nose, coupled with toffee sweetness. Has a full, almost chewy mouthfeel and the fruit and malt flavours are rich and tasty, with some hop bitterness biting in too. The fruit wins the finish, with a sweet, warming feeling in your throat

Bottle from Watrose. Orange/brown colour with medium beige head which fades quite quickly. Aroma is fruity, apples, and a bit of toffee. Quite dough yeasty too. Little bit of spice. Taste is satisfyingly fruity with just a touch of bitterness. Quite biscuity. Light carbonation and feels nice in the mouth. Looks a bit thin, but isn't like that palate-wise. Medium bodied. Quite a long caramelly finish. Very nice. --- Beer merged from original tick of Admirals Ale on 09 Sep 2019 at 16:06 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 7. Bottle bought in Cornwall. Poured red / amber brown with a small short lasting off-white head. Aroma of caramel, malt, citrus, hops, biscuit and a hint of spice. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness. Medium body, oily/smooth texture, soft carbonation. Pretty good.

Pours brown from the bottle. Tall, foamy head settles but lingers. Aroma is vinegar with hints of caramel. Taste is horrendously sour .. probably infected. I don’t think it’s supposed to be like this. Drainpour.

Dark amber/light brown, slightest hazy, with a couple of fingers of the slightest off-white head. Decent retention and lacing. Fairly lively aroma is biscuity, slight caramel, slight leafy and delicately fruity, maybe with a hint of spiciness. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter, overall in perfect balance. Biscuity malts and slight caramel, slight earthy/leafy/tea-like note, delicate citric and raisiny fruitiness. Overall not as vivid as the aroma suggested. Light to medium bodied with low to medium carbonation, goes down easy and smooth. Overall ok and true too style, not at all remarkable.

Pours darker ambercopper. Small to no white head. Smell is bit dusty. Taste is full, bitter, caramel, crunchy maltyness. refined complexity, and rather well balanced. lacks some intensity, even in the style. bit dry back. no lasting aftertaste, appart from some aromatic / caramelly features.
