IMPERIAL STOUT 2019 has taken enormous amounts of flavour from the Bourbon barrels. In addition to the usual vanilla and butterscotch energy of Bourbon, there’s flavours reminiscent of aged port and sherry.

On tap at The Green Goddess, Blackheath. Black pour with a tan head. Nose is dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, raisin, butterscotch, touch of soy sauce. Taste is creamy coffee, dark chocolate, raisin, bourbon, light smoke, butterscotch. Lots of bourbon coming through in the back end. Boozy smoky malty finish. Rather nice.

Can from The Strait and Narrow. Jet black colour with a tan head. Aroma is bourbon sweet and malty with chocolate. Full body. But heavy going.
