33 cl bottle. Dark gold color, clear, persistent thick white head, skunky. Aroma of grains and starch, cardboard, corn. Flattish taste, metallic bitterness, average carbonation, light to medium body. Ugh.

As Lapin Kulta Premium Export, which I think should at least be listed here as an alias, because I think most raters will encounter this beer more under this name than as "Lapin Kulta IV A". Moussy, yellowish white, thinnish and quickly opening head over a pretty orange blonde beer, almost amber-ish, a lot deeper and darker than usual for the style (in fact, if this is a pale lager, it is the least pale example I’ve ever seen); vivid columns of sparkling rise up from the bottom. Aroma of caramel and biscuit (clearly toasted malts have been used here), cookie dough and popcorn, iron, faint rotting grass, rainwater and cooked vegetables (representing pasteurization, I guess). Sweetish onset of old cookies and caramel, minerally carbonation, sourish accent, rather thin body, slick, with restrained graininess in the middle, otherwise a bit watery, fading out in the finish without noteworthy addition of hop bitterness, though a very brief, late, faint grassy bitterishness is there. Strange in being caramelly, perhaps a bit inspired by amber lagers but not quite that dark; otherwise, it does remain a still somewhat bland, fairly neutral, thin-bodied, mass-produced lager.

500ml can as 'Lapin Kulta Export'. Pretty sure I had this one in Helsinki. Pours gold with a frothy white head. Aroma is sweet, malty and grainy with some hoppy notes. Well balanced and easy to drink.

Pours a clear golden color, topped with a nice frothy white head. Basic malty aroma, some notes of grains also present, not much hoppy notes to be picked up. Taste is slightly sweet at first, followed by a refreshing bitterness and crisp and dry finish. Not bad, quite drinkable really.

Gulbrun klar med høyt hvitt skum. Malt og kornlukt. Søtlig fruktig med antydning til bitterhet. Medium kullsyre.

Bottle 500 ml, at he Famous Three Kings, London, about 6 years ago. I remember this as very drinkable and refreshing beer. Was surprised. If I get a chance I’d like to re-rate it.
