3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze is a blend of one-, two-, and three-year old lambics. Spontaneous fermentation, patient maturation in oak barrels, and continued evolution of the ecosystem in the bottle result in a distinctively complex and elegant natural beer. No two bottlings are alike, as there are multiple variables in the blending process, a variety of barrel sizes and shapes, differences in aged lambic proportions in the blend, etc. When cellared properly, 3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze can be aged for several decades. The aromas and flavours will evolve from notes of vibrant fresh citrus, zesty and grassy notes to a mellow, oaky, stone fruit bouquet as the lambic continues to develop with time.

Flaska från Etre. Batch 114, 18/19. Disig gulorange vätska utan skum och med lite kolsyra. Funk, stall, hästfilt, strå, fat, syrliga äpplen. Inte sötare p g a honungen utan snarare tvärtom lite stramare. Gott så klart

0.375 l bottle from 'Schürmanns Genusswelten', n° 114 18 - 19, 6.0% abv, bottled in October 2019. A little hazy, orangeish amber with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, sourish, quite funky, gently fruity aroma of overripe lemon, green apple, gooseberry, horse blanket and some oak. Minimally sweet, quite sour, gently funky and rather fruity taste of overripe lemon, gooseberry, some green apple, oak, horse blanket, a tad of vinegar and light hay, followed by a medium long, rather tart, woody-dry finish. Medium body, quite astringent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Solid Geuze, rather sour and vinegary though, a little one-dimensional as well. Alright, but definitely not their best blend.

15.12.2018: 0,75l from bottle at Lambic-O-Droom, about a week ago. Amber clear colour, small white head. Smells musty, cheesy, bit citric, hints of honey, earthy. Nice smell. Medium body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. Tastes citric, earthy, spices, wood, musty, light honey. Finishes dry and lightly sour with notes of citric, musty and earthy notes. Very nice one, maybe a bit too young, definitly has potential though 7, 4, 7, 3, 16

As Oude Geuze Vintage Honing. amber hazy color, small white head. smells honey, bit funky, earthy, grassy, subtle oak. lovely smell. full body, pearly carbonation. tastes honey, earthy, bit funky, oak, flowery, stone fruits, marzipan, bit citric. finishes dry and light to medium sour with notes of honey, stone fruits and some earthy notes. very nice one, lovely balance, distinctive honey notes, very good to drink. wow, I love this a lot more nowadays. 9, 4, 8, 4, 17

Finishes lightly dry and lightly sour with notes of grass, citrus and honey notes. very nice one. great balance, lovely cheesy and funky notes. lovely lovely balance. super smooth

375mL bottle at Brewdog Manchester, pours a clear bright golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out that signature 3F barnyard funk, leather and horse blanket — can't detect any honey presence. Flavour is funky but softer on the palate than regular OG; there's barnyard funk, somewhat sharp citric notes, and soft, mostly fermented out honey. Citric, funky, and soft on the palate. Very good but I definitely prefer regular OG.
