Manannan Mac Lir. "Son of the Sea" and the mystic Celtic warrior god after whom the Isle of Man is named. It was only time then, before we at least honoured him with a decent beer. We think he would be proud. MacLir, clouds and clears on pouring much like the legendary cloak of mist, with which Manannan is said to have protected the Island from invasion…and sub-standard beer.
MacLir is a superb Wheat Beer, with resin hops and lemon fruit on the aroma, banana and lemon in the mouth, and a big, bitter finish dominated by the hops, juicy malt and citrus fruit. Unlike lightly hopped Bavarian or Belgian wheat beers, MacLir also comes armed with a veritable oast house full of little green plants.
Ingredients: Pride of Ringwood from New Zealand, Cascade and Cluster from the US, Saaz from the Czech Republic, Styrian Goldings from Slovenia, and First Gold and Goldings from England.

Old rating from 2013 - 500ml bottle brought back from the Isle of Man by my wife. It pours amber with a small white head. Aromas & tastes of elderflowers, orange, caramel, lemon, honey, hints of spices, herbs & wheat malt. Moderate body. Moderate finish.

Bottle 0,5ltr: Golden hazy brew from the Isle of Man with a great citrus taste and tintling on tongue experience. If you don’t no better you think this came from Belgium.

Lemon, flowers and chalk in the aroma. Lemongrass flavor, well at least a grassy hopcharacter with lemon. Solid hoppy aftertaste. Well made witbier with a distinct character.

Bottle from B&M, Halifax. Copper-amber with a very thin head. Has a wheat ale style, with a dryish finish, sugary-metallic in its nose, but not a huge amount of flavour.

Piwo z niewielka pianka, klarowne i zlociste. Zapach trawiasto zbozowy.
