MacLir is a superb Wheat Beer, with resin hops and lemon fruit on the aroma, banana and lemon in the mouth, and a big, bitter finish dominated by the hops, juicy malt and citrus fruit. Unlike lightly hopped Bavarian or Belgian wheat beers, MacLir also comes armed with a veritable oast house full of little green plants.
Ingredients: Pride of Ringwood from New Zealand, Cascade and Cluster from the US, Saaz from the Czech Republic, Styrian Goldings from Slovenia, and First Gold and Goldings from England.

0.5l bottle shared with The Crew + yngwie and Meilby. In the glass this is a as good as clear looking golden colored one. A small bubbly quickly sidesticking lacing top. Smells classic caramelly. Some soapy sweet fruits, a little zest and it's just sweet and plain. Nothing extraordinary, but nice enough. Dry caramelly flavors. There's a kinda dry almost roasted hint in the back here. Thin oily in the mouth with a soft prickling carbonation level. No off flavors really. Sweetish, not too wheat sweet IMO, but definitely drinkable. 16.06.2014

Bottle. Pours clear darkish golden with small white head. Clear aroma of yeast and malt, with touches of hops. Bitter, hoppy flavour, with notes of malt and yeast and touches of citrus. Bitter aftertaste. Watery. Okay but nothing special.

500ml bottle from B&M, Shrewsbury. Pours clear amber with very light wheat aroma. Unusual wheat taste, light spice but a bit timid in character. Ok not great.

Pours a clear golden color, topped with a fairly decent white frothy head. A mild fruity aroma, some wheaty notes also here. A sweet and fruity beginning is followed by a mild bitterness and some spices in the finish. Very enjoyable, although I’m not a fan of wheat beers. Nice
