Bottle from Livonia Liquor (Pull #7). Pours a deep brown with a finger of beige head that lingers. Toffee, roasted malt, oak and notes of fig and date on the nose. Palate is very similiar with fig, vanilla and oak that lingers on the palate. Balanced finish and very smooth with an almost creamy feel. Quite enjoyable.

Bottle, packed 6/21. Deep copper with a dense pale beige head. Aroma of dried fruit, strong bread, brandy, butterscotch. Full bodied but not syrupy. Lowish carbonation is just right. Lots of dried fruit, perhaps not quite as much of a bottom end rumble as expected. Oaked and spicy at the end with just a little bitterness. It's nice but not exotic in the slightest.

Dried fruit (raisin, prune, fig), caramel malt, and hay aroma. Very dark amber with moderate tan head. Moderately sweet raisin, fig, creamy caramel malt, and mildly bitter hay and alcohol flavor. Nice balance - smooth.

355ml bottle from Premier Hop, Pudsey, W.Yorkshire. A dark amber/brown coloured pour with a medium off white head on top that doesn't hang about too long. Aroma of dark fruit, figs and caramel. Tastes of caramel, dark fruit, figs/dates, a hint of bourbon and butterscotch. It's actually rather nice but still lacking complexity for a New Holland ale.355ml

Pours dark brown with a small head. The aroma is of caramel malt, oak, and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with toffee, oak, and maybe vanilla. It’s pretty good but not on the level of most of the Dragon’s Milk beers. I’m confused. Dragon’s Milk has always been New Holland’s imperial stout variations (with the exception of the White). That’s what I was expecting here. Oh well.

Bottle at a tasting with RB boys. Med-full body, med-light carbonation. Lots of malty complexity, dried fruits, caramelly, toasted, nutty. Pretty rich in terms of malt, though slightly lacking some balancing aspect. Moderate warming alcohol, not feeling boozy though. Pretty tasty, good. Could use more complexity and balance though, too sweet and malty. Not feeling the solera aspect neither.
