There's beer yeast in Marmite, and there’s Marmite in this beer. Brewed with Perle hops, same as our classic Hells Lager, we added real Marmite along with toasted Pilsner and Munich malt for a smoky, bready balance. Sowhether you love it or hate it, it works just as well as marmite on toast. We'll toast to that.

Brewed with Marmite.

Hops: Perle
Malt: Pilsner, Rauch, Munich
Yeast: Ale Yeast

Catching up on some paper ratings. Sample courtesy of Grumbo. Cheers. I find my comments on marmite are much the same. Love marmite on taste but not a massive fan when it is placed anywhere else. Unfortunately Marmite Beer follows this trend. The marmite comes through in the aroma where it is also smokey, beefy and woody. Not really a fan of the taste, was a light toasted element but did not really work for me. I neither loved it or hated it.

Can from Morrisons. I vagally recall trying marmite when I was around 18, not liking it and have never tried it again. Therefore there was some trepidation with this. Pours a dark brown with moderate sized beige head. Aroma of smoke, ham, beef stock, sweet malts. Taste is slightly meaty and salty, smoke, a touch of roast, chocolate notes and sweet bready malts gives this balance. Actually this is very good and thankfully not full on rauchbier. Fair play to Camden from turning a gimmicky beer idea into something tasty.

Can from Sainsburys. Hazy amber/brown body with an off-white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of Marmite and treacle. Flavour of earth and brown bread. Thin to medium body with a slick texture. Light fizz. Flavoursome and certainly Marmite-like.

Can from Waitrose in Parkstone, Dorset. Pours opaque dark brown with a beige cap. Meaty, smoked malts, bready, light liquorice, yeasty, earthy. Fairly dry with a salty finish. Light sweet & light to moderate bitter. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Wasn't for me.

Can from Sainsbury's. Pours clear dark brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of light smoke, light toffee. Taste adds a hint of marmite. It's ok I guess.

33cl can from Sainsbury’s. medium off white head. Clear dark amber pour. Hint of marmite. Ok. Not sure why anyone would want to add Marmite to beer.

Can at the 'Mere, Happy New Years (Tipples had) Tastang, thanks to Dave 21/01/22. Dark mahogany brown with a decent beige head. Nose is yeasty, marmite bread, spice, umamai. Taste comprises light smoke, bovril unami, smoked kiss, spice, dried fruits. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent fun offering .... does what it says on the tin.
