Tap at the brewery. Deep reddish brown black appearance with a thin tan head. Dark fruit, plums, figs, chocolate, and burnt caramel in the nose. Goopy mouth feel. A little boozy. Figs, chocolate, and alcohol. I'm not a big fan.

Keg at the brewery taproom. Pours rich brown with a creamy beige head. Interesting aroma, some tangy berries, roasted malts, background cocoa. Medium sweet flavour with notes of burnt herbs, sugary chocolate, more tangy berries. Medium to full bodied, lightly oily and chewy, with fine carbonation. Finishes with light boozy warmth, some sticky dark sugars, ripe berries, more cocoa. Novel stuff. Not bad.
