Backlog September 2011. Unclear golden body under a big, creamy off-white head. Aroma is spicy with yeast and white sugar. Taste is quite sweet with pale malt, sugar and some generic fruitiness. Medium body and same aftertaste.

Bottle. Orange color, cloudy. Flowery, yeasty vegetable aroma. Initial citric fruit overpowered by yeasty vegetable notes. Sulphury aftertaste. Disappointing.

Bottle at Ebenezers. Pours unclear blonde, small to no white head. Smell is dusty, intense madeira. Taste is midlly tart (very mild ) madeira, tad dry, still notes of sweetness. Too old for sure by now. Not so great anymore a it might have once been.

This was a flower beer with thick, sticky, yellowish white head and cloudy bronze colour. Aroma of orange peel, caramel, field flowers, floral hops, straw, cinnamon, honey, sweet sherry. Sweetish, very fruity taste, yeasty, caramelly malts, soft herbal tones, sweetish orange-like finish with aromatic flowery bittering hops. Very soft, gracious and ’summery’, as is to be expected from a flower beer.

The Smisje take on a strong amber ale. Has caramalt, candi sugar and sweet yeats, combined with some spices I can’t name.

Bottle. A clear one, dark brown in color and with a fingerthick off-white head. Cellarish maltyness and some fresh fruits and sugar on the nose. The flavor is a bit on the sweet side, fruity and sugary, lacking on bitterness all the way I think. Medium body, almost sticky on the palate. Well, certainly drinkable, but too boring and uninteresting. 110930

Bottle. Deep golden colour with a white head. Aroma is alcohol, malt, yeast. Flavour is alcohol, malt, hop, yeast, fruit. Ordinary beer.

11.2 ounce bottle, origin unknown, opened on 6/5/10. Pours a hazy orange color with a white head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of weird almost mustard-like herbal notes, floral notes, caramel and nutty notes. The taste is herbal notes, some citrus, nutty notes. Medium bodied. Not bad, not good, definitely odd.

Bottle. Frothy white good mostly lasting head. Dark yellow colour. Light malty and hoppy aroma. very fryity with strong banana notes. Moderate bitter flavor. Spicey and strong ginger notes. Fruityness gone. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate. A bit messy.
