Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours black with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has lots of bread notes with a hint of chocolate and sweetness. Flavor has grass and bread up front with light roast as well as a hint of chocolate.

On tap @ the brewery. Pours a hazy dark brown appearance with a thin brown head. Anise, celery, grass, mild roast, chocolate, and mild dark fruit. Dull carbonation. High bitterness. Moderate sweetness. Twangy, burnt sugar, anise, nutty flavor with a stalky veggie note. No thanks.

Tap at the brewery. Close to a Belgian, especially something about the yeast. Chocolate. Some leather. Clearly a high abv, but now that I am rating it, not as high as I thought. Some hopes. A successful attempt at an imperial brown.
