Sampled from the tap at Republic. Pours black with a creamy brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma has roasted malts and earthy dark grains with a bit of earthy pine underlying. Flavor begins with earthy dark grains and roasted malts with some earthy pine adding a bit of bitterness.

On tap @ the brewery. Pours a reddish brown appearance with a light brown head. Piney, sprucey, roasted malty, mild dark chocolate aroma with some resiny notes. Decent body. Resiny hoppy, dank flavor with some roast. Kind of a nice flavor. Finishes earthy and bitter. I’d buy a pint of this.
