A Dunkelweizen (dark wheat beer) gone funky. Flavors of sour cherry, wheat, and oak. The original kettle soured version of this beer was the first sour beer Fair State ever made. We’ve resurrected it in 100% barrel-fermented, mixed culture format.

Tap at Fair State. Brown color. This is legit. Earthy aroma of yeast. I dont pick up any wheat but it is dry and more than a little sour. Not quite like a lambic but noticeably soir nonetheless. Good stuff to get my sour fix. Dry earthy aftertaste. I also get some grape flavor.

On tap @ the brewery. Pours a murky deep red appearance with an off white head. Some dark fruits, raspberries, vanilla, light vinegar, cheese, and unfaked funk. Pretty fucken tart. Vanilla, coconut, black raspberries, and cranberries in the flavor. Refreshing. Nice mouth feel and carbonation. A little strange but fun.
