2020:
Medianoche starts as a complex, rich, and full-bodied Imperial Stout, brewed with copious amounts of chocolate malts, crystal malts, and flaked oats, then boiled continuously for nearly 36 hours. After fermentation, this massive stout was aged in a carefully selected blend of 7-12 year bourbon barrels for over 18-24 months, lending notes of baker's chocolate, toasted marshmallows, sweet vanilla, and caramel.
Coconut Medianoche starts with a carefully selected blend of Medianoche batches aged for 21 months in 6-12 year Heaven Hill® bourbon barrels. After barrel aging, the beer was conditioned on more than 3 lbs per gallon of toasted coconut flakes and raw coconut chips, with the sweet coconut providing a perfect complement to the dark chocolate, brownie batter, and brown sugar notes contributed by the barrels.

2022:
Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout
Coconut Medianoche starts as a carefully selected blend of Medianoche batches aged for 21-24 months in freshly emptied 7-8 year-old Blanton's bourbon barrels. After barrel-aging, the beer was conditioned on more than 1,600 lbs of toasted coconut flakes and raw coconut chips, with the sweet coconut providing a perfect complement to the notes of crème brûlée, espresso brownie batter and cinnamon sugar donuts expressed by the barrels.

Standard medianoche base these days, aka low carb mad syrup, but it still works for me! Thick sweet chocolate and a heck of a lot of coconut macaroon flavor.
And we're off with the heavy hitters. Crazy thick black stuff. Big smell of sweet chocolaty coconut, not the bitter kind. Massively thick and rich, pretty sweet, lots of bourbon, boatloads of coconuts. Exceptionally delicious.

Bottle thnx to the brewer ! Pours black, no real head. Sweet, coconut scent. Bit roasty. Balanced, but I think coconut really overpowers easely, giving a milky, often not that nice aroma/taste. here, the scent is a touch to much coconut for me, but i’m sure others might love it, and clearly it IS balanced. Taste is bit sweet, roasty, coconut-butteryness ( no dyacethyl ! ). Coconut is there, but in probably the best balance i’ve had it so far. Blended in more than it was in the scent. Super silky MF. Great carbo as well. Nice ! .... 2017 Rerate in 2019. Liked it more now. Upping the score in the middle ( 4 on the original, 4.5 on this occasion, so 4.3 now)
