Medianoche starts as a complex, rich, and full-bodied Imperial Stout, brewed with copious amounts of chocolate malts, crystal malts, and flaked oats, then boiled continuously for nearly 36 hours. After fermentation, this massive stout was aged in a carefully selected blend of 7-12 year bourbon barrels for over 18-24 months, lending notes of baker's chocolate, toasted marshmallows, sweet vanilla, and caramel.
Coconut Medianoche starts with a carefully selected blend of Medianoche batches aged for 21 months in 6-12 year Heaven Hill® bourbon barrels. After barrel aging, the beer was conditioned on more than 3 lbs per gallon of toasted coconut flakes and raw coconut chips, with the sweet coconut providing a perfect complement to the dark chocolate, brownie batter, and brown sugar notes contributed by the barrels.

Vaguely a liquid, sweet and boozy. Lots of coconut without suntan lotion, caramel, some barrel. Rich and smooth, very nice.

500ml bottle. Intense coconut overdose with some wheaty bourbony notes, oily syrup and mild roastiness. Heavy and thick. Maybe a bit too sweet.

Bottle pour shared by Chalumeaux--thanks, TJ! It's an oily, viscous opaque black with exceptional viscosity, no head or lacing. Aroma is sweet malt and mild coconut. Taste is strong sweet malt, bourbon and coconut. Mouthfeel is full bodied with thick texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, this is a meal! Super thick. Not super sweet but a slow sipper!

500 ml Bottle thanks TJ!! Aroma has strong coconut, bourbon, booze. Flavor is cake batter, coconut, and chocolate icing. Somehow the bourbon drys out the texture. Yet crazy thick and cake batter like. Couldn’t have more then 4 oz.

375mL 2022 vintage bottle drunk 11/11/22, thanks, Chalameaux! Inky, dark, unclear, no head, viscous. Purple edges. Rich, earthy, nutty, almost salty with intense brown sugar, dark chocolate and sweet brown sugar. Not boozey, though. Is this finally a decent medianoche?? Syrupy syrup! Yum this is lovely and full of coconut. Salty, chewy, nutty, fruity and with a lovely bourbon character. Rich, thick, sweet, of course but not cloying. Good acidity from alcohol and bourbon. Yes, we've done it! We've had a good medianoche! They DO exist! Mostly impressed how drinkable this is for how young it is.
