Very smooth stout. I'd call it more of a sweet stout than dry. Low-ish alcohol, so easy to drink, i recommend. Magnolia SF.

On tap at Smokestack. Opaque black coloured pour with a small mid tan head. Aroma is vanilla ice cream, cream caramel, earthy, strawberry, slightly odd. Flavour is composed of milky roast, lactose sugars, milk choc, earth, strawberry shortcake. Palate is milky, medium bodied. Semi sweet. Interesting sweet stout. Some wood and lingering fruity eaters.

Sample at GABF 09/26/2015, thanks to my sis for assistance with note-taking. Inky black color with a medium thin beige head that recedes quickly. Sparse spotty lacing. Aroma of malt, coffee and slight hops. Light-bodied with flavors of toasted malt, mild coffee and earthy hops. The finish is roasty with a short malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Draft at the source. Thin tan head on top the black liquid with much retention. Aroma is mild chocolate and hints of salty ocean. Lighter side of medium in body with a mild brine finish. The brine plays nicely with the deep chocolate malts. Nice depth of malt with a drying texture over the tongue. Tasty.

On tap @ the brewery during San Francisco 7/7/14 beer tour. Pours a deep reddish brown appearance with a dark brown head. Roasted coffee, milky, cream, coffee aroma. I suppose the oysters come through a lot more in the flavor. Dark chocolate. Roasted coffee. Earth. Drinks maybe better than anything here.

(On tap) Black and opaque with a light brown head. Burned, malty aromas with a touch of malt. Medium-bodied with roasted or even lightly burned malt notes and again a touch of salt. Some malty bitterness. 210307
