Charcoal nose.Black, medium tan head, little retention.Medium body, alcohol not noticeable. Cola flavor, smoky overtones. Lightly sweet. I’m not crazy about sweet rauchbiers, so the concept behind this beer faces an uphill battle, but I found

On tap at the 2014 OCBF. Pours a near clear deep amber brown with a dark brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of smokiness with a bit of bacon and sweet grains. Flavor has roasted malts and smoked meats with a earthy grains towards the finish.

On tap @ Tap n Handle Foco. Draft to goblet. Looks nice. Deep brown appearance with a lasting brown head. Light to moderate ash / campfire smoke, a touch metallic, caramel, Kennelly fruity nose. Slightly light bodied. Creamy, apple / banana / white fruity, burnt, caramel malty flavor. Some lasting smoky character. The beer is a bit flimsy but luckily they didn’t overdo the smoke.

Kentucky Fried Charleston Trip Beer #78. Draft at Brewvival. Pours a dark brown color with a thin frothy brown head. Decent head retention. Aroma of smoke, wheat, toffee. The taste is sweet toffee malt, smoke, earth, dark fruits, mild hops. Medium bodied. Solid.
