Bottle @ home, courtesy of pepsiedcan. RESPECT MALT LIKKA, MY BRO. Pours a hazy orange appearance with a small, off white head. The aroma is actually pretty nice with a rich raspberry puree nose. Somewhat syrupy, thick raspberry dessert bar, a bit tart, kind of chewy flavor. Actually, it really just tastes like a raspberry dessert bar. Wow, this sounded fucking stupid as fuck but I’d totally love to beer bong and get completely fucked on this shit. They just don’t make shit these days like this that is so easy to get fucked up on. Super easy to get buzzed quick on this 9.5% abv kid’s drink. Best Iowan Raspberry beer that I’ve had so far in 2013.

12oz bottle. I’d guess anyone slagging this beer has never tried to make a raspberry tripel before. Big sweet golden malt body, but an even bigger pronounced raspberry flavor. Unfiltered orange-pink-tan body, thin steady white head. The raspberry really balances out the big malt and maybe candi sugar. Brutal and full bodied, but also a pretty enjoyable venture.

Draft at the Millstream tap room. The sign at the tap shows this is 8% abv, not 9.5%. But there may be widely different batches. A bubbly amber colored beer, with the bubbles ebbing to a thin layer of foam. I can’t smell much, for some reason, and my nose ISN’T stuffy at this time. Just get some malt in the nose. Malt is thick; I spilled some on my hand and it’s very sticky. The blend of tripel and raspberry hits it pretty right. Fuity sweetness is not overly done, and the result may be drier than the usual tripel. Taste of unfiltered yeast may be keeping the fruit taste down, too. Thick mouthfeel. A slight grainy smell once I get to the bottom.

On tap at SPSBF. Pours a hazy gold with a white head that dissiptes slowly to the edges. Aroma has some nice raspberries backed by some sweet grains and belgian yeast. Flavor has a lot of sweet raspberries with a grain backing and a nice underlying yeast note.
