Bottle @ home, picked up at RJs Fort Collins. Pours a hazy dark orange appearance with a thin brown head. Spicy cinnamon, vanilla, caramel, sweet aroma. Banana, nutmeg, cinnamon, gingerbread/caramel flavor. Not good.

12 oz bottle. Aroma consists of nutmeg and cinnamon, as described, but it’s fairly muted compared to most spiced beers. Pours hazy amber with a one finger beige head with decent retention. Taste has all the spicy character you’d expect, but this is much more bitter than other similar beers. Creamy mouthfeel, medium body. I’m liking the bitterness in this. Different than your average pumpkin spice beer.

Sample at Ale Yeah! Caramel colored pour, with a big, bubbly, beige head. The aroma is earthy hops, light cinnamon, cardamom, and sourdough. The flavor is sweet, and fairly bitter. Medium body, chalky, with a pretty clean finish. Overall, this is weakly spiced beer, and overly hopped.

Pour is a dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is a nice spice. Nutmeg is here in a big way. Flavor is cinnamon to start with a little gingerbread. Lots of nutmeg and cinnamon almost a bit too much. Finish has pumpkin pie spice without the pumpkin b/c it was not used. Definitely a spice beer. If nutmeg and cinnamon in beer is not your thing then pass this one by.

Bottle, 12oz. It’s an almost clear one, amber in color and topped by a dense, finger-thick light beige head leaving lacings. The aroma is sure spiced, nutmeg and clove notes, as well some caramel maltyness in the back. There’s some sweetness and bitterness going on in the flavor, but the spices win. Dried fruits, caramel and a touch of pine cones as well. Full to medium body, soft carbonation. Feels quite sweet, but dries up towards the end, which is also mostly spiced. Not sure... I think it’s a fine brew, but if the spices were toned down a bit, it would be quite drinkable as well. 130829

Poured from 12 fl oz bottle. Clear light orange-ish brown with very minimal off-white head. Cinnamon, nutmeg, caramel, brown sugar, sweet potato, pumpkin aroma. Nice sweet pumpkin taste at the beginning that quickly dissipates leaving very lacking, watery finish. Perhaps it had been kept for too long.
