Jack Hammer has been single handedly ripping it up for quite some time. Now this IPA, has spawned four hammer head off-springs. Rye Hammer is the fourth of our super-charged hyped up hybrids.

A grapefruit harvest of citrus melts away to sticky roasted caramel and rye warmth, all resting on a malted biscuit backbone. Then ‘The Hammerhead’s trademark bitter finish reasserts its authority.

CAN 33 CL. Hazy golden, white head. Sweet pink grapefruit, ripe oranges, candied citrus style malts, very little resin. Bitter upfront, but as resiny as Jack - more brutal pine, medium sweet caramel malts, more pine in the finish. Quite well carbonated. A less resiny version of Jack Hammer.

330ml can from Appellation Wines. Thanks Ash! Pours clear golden with a thick white head. Aromas of pine, tropical fruit and citrus. Taste is bitter, zingy. Bitter finish. Could’ve gone in a bit heavier with the rye.

Blonde, hazy, big frothy head
Aroma of orange, pine, hop resins, sweet fruits
Taste of bitter citrus zest hops, sweet pale caramel, spicy malts, alcohol noticeable, pungent flavour, good hop punch
Palate - Soft carb, medium body, quite rich, sweet light malt base, bitter zest, bitter spicy, bit sticky. Finish - considerably bitter zest, spicy long linger
Overall - Lots of flavour, however it doesn’t hide its 7.2% abv at all

Can from Appellation Wines Comely Bank. Appearance - golden amber with a nice lacy head. Nose - oranges and stone fruitvof some sort, probably peaches. The rye comes through A the head dies away a little. Taste - nice mix if the orange and this time canned peaches with the slowly creeping note of the rye. Palate - close to medium bodied with a tangy texture and a long dry crunchy finish. Overall - the rye is subtle and the beer is probably better for that I think.
