Α classic Belgian beer, extremely fruitful, complicated and refreshing. A beer which you can very pleasantly accompany with seafood or enjoy it "solo", one warm, sunshiny day.

33cl Bottle from Douberd, thanks Christos! Hazy golden yellow colour, pillowy white head. Aroma of yeast, pale malts, straw, light floral, light fruity, lemon, very much like a classic saison. Flavour follows, quite dry, light lemony, malty, floral bitter finish. Light bodied. Not a fan of Greek salad, bit this Choriatiki I’ll order in a heartbeat.

330 ml bottle. Unclear orange body with a lacing white head. Aroma is mild spicy with hint of flowers and yoghurt. Flavor is refreshing fruity, pale malt, some spices and relatively bitter for the style. Fine balanced body and nice aftertaste. Not very typical Sasion, too bitter and I miss the Sasion yeast flavor, otherwise a nice and refreshing beer. A positive surprise for me as the first “crafty” beer I have sampled from Arendals Bryggeri, that’s well known for being a conservative lager brewery.

Bottle, courtesy of rouhlas in EuroLocalSwap 2/2016. A hoppy bittersweet saison, not entirely a new thing, but well done. Green cut grass aroma, spicy and herbal, low onion, not damaging though. Good lively carbonation, medium body. Nice.

Bottle. It’s a cloudy orange colored beer with a dense, finger-thick white head. The aroma is lightly bready and wort-ish, but it’s orange zest and peppery yeast that dominates. Piney hops too. A wee hint of sulphur blends in. It’s dry and nicely carbonated, more or less full bodied and with a very pleasant bitterness. Peppery yeast, generic citrus zest, some orange and a good dash of pine cones in the flavor, pushing the malts to the far back. Everlasting bitter finish with orange zest and some black pepper. A true beauty of a saison, tasteful, refreshing and very quenching. Perhaps a tad dry and bitter-feeling, and there’s a sulphur hint in the aroma, but it’s a damn fine brew anyway. It’s a pity we won’t see this one on the Norwegian markets, but it might be more interesting to be a tourist in Greece this spring and summer. 160312
