GABF 2013. Pours a brownish black appearance with a thin brown head. Slight veggie, dark chocolate, tangy, a touch fruity aroma. A bit woody, chewy bready, roasted malty flavor. I got some veggie/woody notes in the aroma and flavor that kind of turned me off, but I appear to be the exception. Hope to try it again in the future and update this rating.

On tap at Clyborn. Pours a clear dark brown with a brown head that lasts throughout the beer and laces. Aroma has a lot of roasted malts with bitter chocolate. Flavor strong roasted malts with bitter chocolate and a bit of coffee.

Enjoyed on cask at Goose Island Clybourn in Chicago, IL while killing time waiting for parking to run out. Great stop over beer! Appearance is pitch black, moderate thickness, huge frothy off white head. Aroma is rich in citrus notes, smells more like an IPA than a stout, not much chocolate aroma. Taste goes down smooth and lightly dry, roasted chocolate notes in the flavor, also a bit of pine and citrus, pretty good stuff.

From notes. Draft at clybourn. Roasty coffee and chocolate malts with a huge dose of citrus hops. I like this one quite a bit.
