Tap at the Kitchen, Denver - 03/06/12. Black pour with a brown head. Roasted malts, coffee and some chocolate on the nose. Tastes of espresso coffee, sweet tones, roasty malt, hint of bitter chocolate. Medium bodied, dry finish, decent no nonsense coffee stout at just over 5% ABV.

Tap @ brewery. Dark brown appearance with a brown head. Roasty coffee, dark chocolate, light vanilla and toffee in the nose. Roasty, dark chocolate malty, rich, fresh espresso flavor with notes of caramel and toffee. Best I’ve had here in a while.

Fairly rich nose of chocolate covered espresso beans - creamy body, with moderate lactose sweetness up front - this is followed by strong bittersweet chocolate and deep roasty espresso notes - they managed to extract a lot of the coffee flavor without also pulling out a lot of the acidity from the beans - a very solid coffee stout.
