A caramel centered stout accentuated by Ridge Runner French Roast coffee. Instead of simply adding coffee to a stout, we build a stout around the coffee. Coarse ground coffee beans are added in the conditioning tank. Carefully selected coffee adds notes of rich chocolate and toffee to this robust stout.

Reviewed from notes.
Can to nonic glass.
Appearance: dark brown in the pour but more of a black color in the glass. Finger's worth of off-white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: caramel malts, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, coffee notes, roasty tones and some earthiness
Flavor: blends all the prior noted aromas to a sweet to roasty quality; finishes with blended chocolates and coffee tones
Texture: light to medium bodied, some sessionability; sturdy roasty acceptable grind on the tongue
Overall: good coffee stout I'd be willing to come back to.

Can from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, mocha, chocolate, caramel, more beany coffee. Hint of vanilla. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Good body considering the abv, with a nice creaminess. Quite good.

Coffee stout by Jackie O's in Ohio, can shared by Craftmember, with comical artwork - the great Jabba the Hutt, criminal kingpin of the Star Wars universe, riding a Tie fighter... Being a Star Wars nerd with a weakness for this enduring character, I think this one is more than suitable to rate as my thousandth American beer. Thick and moussy, cobweb-lacing, yellow-beige, slowly breaking and dissolving head on a very dark chestnut brown, clear beer, as good as black with copper red glow. Aroma of espresso and coffee grounds galore, toasted walnuts, blood, burnt currants, black toast, hard caramel, old hazelnuts, vague touch of liquorish, mocha ice cream, Maggi, bayleaf. Dryish onset, dried blackcurrants and dried figs, soft carb, smooth oily body, a tad slender perhaps even for this ABV; hard-caramelly, quickly toasty-bitter and lightly pecan-nutty maltiness, roasted nuts and coffee grounds in the end with a mouthfilling bitterness, the roastiness strongly enhanced by the added coffee which adds an aromatic coffee quality as well - as befits a good coffee stout. Spicy hop touch in the end too, further accentuating the dryness and bitterness, but traces of liquorish wood, blood and dried dark fruits pass through as well. The coffee roastedness deliciously lingers on. Very solid as expected from this brewery, an old school dry stout with a generous coffee dosage just the way it ought to be - but then I wonder if the sluggish, fat and decadent fictional mob boss after which it is named, does not deserve a thick, strong, syrupy pastry stout instead of an easygoing, slender coffee stout... Regardless, this is clearly very well made, if you are into coffee stouts like me.

Pronounced grape nuts, molasses, and coffee nose. Black, thin tan head. Grainy coffee, wet dog. Hints of rancid meat. Medium body, easy carbonation. Robust but a little off. Too savory.

Pour is a black with a foamy tan head. Aroma is a real nice equal parts coffee and bakers chocolate with some roasted nuts as well. Flavor is coffee with some caramel and bitter bakers chocolate. Not an abundance of coffee but the other additions work out well. Probably not on par with other beers as far as the coffee goes but this has quite a lot of other flavor components.
